PRINCE SAUD IBN ABDULLAH IBN THUNAYAN’S INSPECTS YANSAB COMPLEX WORK PROGRESS

His Highness Prince Saud Ibn Abdullah Ibn Thunayan Al-Saud, Chairman of the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu and Chairman of the Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) conducted a tour of the SABIC affiliate Yanbu National Petrochemical Company (YANSAB) on March 6, 2007. YANSAB is the SABIC’s newest petrochemical complex in Yanbu industrial city and is one of the world’s largest petrochemical complexes.

Prince Saud was received by Abdul Rahman Saleh Al-Fageeh, President of YANSAB, who provided a presentation on the project’s implementation and work progress. YANSAB has completed work on most infrastructure, buildings and control rooms. Towers, reactors and major plant equipment and machines construction works have already commenced. According to schedule, YANSAB is expected to go on stream by mid 2008 with annual capacity exceeding 4 million tons of petrochemical products. He pointed out that YANSAB has reported non-operation profits amounting to SR 140 million last year and successfully completed more than 18 million man/hours without injuries.

Prince Saud praised the exerted efforts and urged all employees and project contractors to accomplish works on time in compliance with the highest standards of safety and quality.
